Ford introduced the all-new for 2019 Transit Connect Wagon recently at the Chicago Auto Show, which provides customers with a wide range of configurations. With space for five to seven passengers while still providing for an easy conversion for cargo hauling assignments, the 2019 Ford Transit Connect Wagon offers a unique versatility not found among competitors.
Available in two wheelbases and three trim levels, the Transit Connect Wagon offers plenty of cargo room and easy access to it. Dual sliding side doors make loading and unloading a breeze and available roof rails can be adapted to carry anything from sheets of plywood to bikes and kayaks. In its long wheelbase configuration the Transit Connect Wagon has more interior cargo volume behind the first row than the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe.
Under the hood is a new 2.0 L four-cylinder direct injection gasoline engine that comes with Auto Start-Stop fitted as standard equipment. The gasoline engine is mated to an all-new eight-speed automatic transmission. Also available is an all-new 1.5 L Diesel engine with a projected EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of at least 30 mpg highway. It too comes mated to the all-new eight-speed automatic.
A new standard feature in the 2019 Transit Connect is a Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection system, a category exclusive. If the system’s sensors detect a potential collision with a car or pedestrian who might accidentally cross in front of the Transit Connect’s path, a warning flashes on the instrument panel and an alert sounds. Also, the braking system will prepare itself to provide full responsiveness when you brake. Adaptive Cruise Control is also available, which makes highway driving less stressful by automatically slowing the Transit Connect when radar detects slowing vehicles ahead. An available Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert also uses radar to detect surrounding vehicles and the available Lane Keeping System vibrates the steering wheel to alert the driver to avoid lane drift.
The Transit Connect Wagon is available in three trim levels: XL, XLT and Titanium. Seating surfaces range from cloth to leather trimmed and the driver is welcomed by a six-way power adjustable seat. The new instrument panel features an available 6.5-inch floating touch screen, a digital driver information center in the cluster, and available wireless charging for your mobile device. Connectivity is standard with an embedded 4G LTE modem providing Wi-Fi for up to 10 smartphones, laptops, or other mobile devices.
