Ford Fusion Is Now Slated to be Produced in the USA

Two of the most popular models in recent years here at Elk Grove Ford in the Sacramento, CA area are the Ford Fusion and the Escape. With their combination of efficiency, interior space and utility, and exterior styling, it's no wonder drivers in our area and beyond have come to love and appreciate these innovative models. And now consumers have yet another reason to choose a Fusion or Escape model as their new car.

That reason is the fact that Ford has now added production of the Fusion will be added to Ford's production facility in Flat Rock production facility in Michigan. This means that customers will be purchasing a truly American-made automobile when they buy a new Fusion.

Ford expects that 100,000 more Fusions models will be made per year on two different shift levels. Ford will continue to produce the gasoline powered Fusions at their production plant in Hermosillo, Mexico, while the Fusion Hybrid and Energi Plug In versions of the model will be produced now at the Flat Rock facility.

So what does this mean for Ford? Well, its means there will be plenty of Fusion models available here at our own Elk Grove, CA Ford dealership and across all of the country. In other positive news, this new change will produce 1,400 additional jobs in the Flat Rock, MI area and Ford will make an additional $555 million dollar investment in the plant and its surrounding suppliers.
