We've always been told to never judge a book by its cover, and we aren't going to start now with the reveal of Ford's Tourneo Courier at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show. Don't underestimate this little van, for it can seat up to five people, with plenty of space to spare. This fourth and final component to thenew Ford Tourneo lineup is sure to fill the shoes of the family car in Europe-- where the vehicles will be exclusively released and sold.
The Courier is the most compact member of the Tourneo clan which includes: the Tourneo Connect (which is the equivalent of our Transit Connect), Grand Tourneo Connect, and the transit-based Tourneo Custom.
"Tourneo stands for smart, do-anything vehicles that are designed for people who live life to the fullest," says Barb Samardzich, vice president of Product Development, Ford of Europe.1
This idea is definitely embodied in the Courier, which wraps big space in a small package. The extra room is perfect for families always on the go, bold adventurer-types, or even the average Joe who takes weekend ski trips or carpools to work. Yet, the condensed size allows for exceptional handling, fuel economy, and added safety. This Ford vehicle is versatile to accommodate any driver's lifestyle.
The Courier will hit the roads in spring 2014, but as we mentioned, we'll only see this Ford if we head overseas. We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Elk Grove Ford has its fingers crossed that a positive response in Europe may encourage Ford to bring the people-mover to our own showroom.
On the bright side, the Courier is built on the same platform as the Fiesta. So even though we aren't seeing a Tourneo car in the Sacramento area any time soon, Elk Grove Ford can definitely satisfy a craving for one! The Fiesta, like the Courier, is also a comfy yet compact crossover fit to your lifestyle and with ourfinancing options, it fits your budget too. Contact our Ford experts with your questions or to schedule a time to take a spin.
