Excitement and Expectations Build Around the Expedition

New vehicles are introduced around the world constantly, by countless manufacturers, at a breakneck pace. There are, however, those new cars and trucks that cause the reviewers, analysts, and consumers (most importantly) to stop and take notice.

There is a pretty strong consensus that the 2018 version of the Ford Expedition did just that, with many reviews headlined by the words “redefining”, gorgeous”, and “class leader”.

Now, with Ford’s 2019 class of vehicles in their final stages of development, the manufacturer is looking to continue building on the success that was last year’s model. While no official details about the newest edition have been released, let’s take a look at three things that made this year’s Expedition a redesign to be really excited about.

A 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V-6 works alongside a 10-speed automatic transmission packs up to 400 horsepower in Platinum trim, or 375 horsepower in XL, XLT, and Limited trims. The Expedition is powered similar to the Ford F-150, so you know you’re getting the bang for your buck.

Fuel efficiency

The 2018 Ford Expedition is the most fuel-efficient vehicle in its class. What’s even better? You don’t lose any towing capability with that title. The tow rating is best-in-class (we say that a lot with this one, don’t we?) at 9,300 pounds, which is right up there with a number of pick-up trucks.

Interior S P A C E

SUV’s are a lot about the interior, and that’s another thing that the Ford Expedition can brag on. A pair of comfortable front-row seats are flanked by second-row captain’s chairs and a third-row bench that can easily accommodate children or adults. The redesigned interior has more hip room in the first and second rows than the Tahoe or Yukon, and it’s all surrounded by the latest technology, allowing for an enjoyable trip no matter the distance.

Just this month, Cars.com put together its first-ever Full-Size SUV Challenge, pitting the Chevy Tahoe, Ford Expedition, Nissan Armada, and Toyota Sequoia against each other. Each SUV, equipped with four-wheel drive was tested in towing, gas mileage, and road trip capabilities. Taking home the top prize was, of course, the Expedition: “Intuitive controls and a roomy cabin, especially in the third row, charmed our judges – as did a punchy turbo V-6 powertrain. At 820 points, it wasn’t even close; Ford easily won the day.”

Not bad, as the accolades continue to roll in for the 2018 Ford Expedition. If reading this has you interested, don’t hesitate to stop by our showroom today and experience it for yourself.
